Simpson is now training with the squad in Japan

In the meantime, after not being included in Jamaica's team for the World Athletics Championships in Osaka, Japan, 2006 top female sprinter, Sherone Simpson will now turn her attention to getting back to top form. Simpson is now training with the squad in Japan and according to manager Paul Doyle, she will bounce back before the season ends.

Jamaica's Sherone Simpson to miss national meet due to injury

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Jamaica's Sherone Simpson, the fastest woman in the world last season, will miss the Caribbean island's national championships due to a hip injury.

Bruce James, a spokesman for Simpson's athletics team, said Thursday the sprinter aggravated an old hip injury while running in a 100-meter race on June 15 in Oslo, Norway, and will not compete in the June 22-24 qualifiers in Jamaica.....More
